GROWING ORGANICALLY
As the U-Grow is part of a larger Certified Organic Farm, we must adhere to what is allowed and specified in the Canadian Organic Standards guidebook. For details, click on U-Grow Community Garden Agreement.
We provide or direct you to untreated seed sources, organic transplants, organic fertilizers, and share our gardening tips. Many of our gardeners practice their own seed-saving.
We will be organizing seed exchanges for members of the U-Grow beginning 2015.
THE FARM
Stuart Bucholtz as lived here for nearly 40 years and has dedicated much time and energy into restoration of the heritage
farmhouse and farm buildings, as well as promoting good stewardship of the land.
A long-time organic gardener, he has grown extensive vegetable and flower gardens, run a greenhouse, maintain a heritage orchard, grow berries, raise sheep, pasture and forage crops. Realizing the desire for many people to participate in their own food production, they have dedicated a portion of the farm for the community gardens at the U-Grow.
Our 25 acre heritage farm, a few minutes from Fort Langley, is blessed with deep fertile soil and abundant pure artesian spring water.
Our vision is to responsibly and sustainably farm our land and encourage organic growing practises.
