Many of you have asked where you can find organic seeds. Most nurseries carry at least some seeds. Larger nurseries tend to have the widest selection, including organic seeds. Seed prices are established by the seed houses - they are NOT set by the retailer. Many of the local seed producers sell online only as nurseries tend to order from large national and international seed growers rather than small, family seed farms. Please try to support local!
When purchasing certified organic seeds look for the following logos to ensure that they are indeed certified organic. If the logo is not on the package, the seeds are not organic.

If you're looking for organically-grown seed potatoes, Choices Markets currently have them for $5.99/bag. They have yellow, red, and russet. Current as of 25-03-2026.
Some local nurseries that carry a wide range of seeds:
West Coast Seeds Retail Store in Ladner - most of their seeds are not certified organic. Look for the Canada Organic label on the package. Packets that do not this logo are NOT certified organic.
Seed suppliers that offer organic or Certified Organic seeds (Canada):
Greta's Family Gardens - have some rare and hard-to-find seeds such as Winter Melon, Bottle Gourd, Bitter Melon, Water Melon for our colder climate, Rice, etc.
Circle Farms Seeds - organically grown heirlooms, NOT CERTIFIED ORGANIC
For a larger list of local seed farms see FarmFolk CityFolk or the Canadian Organic Growers. Some producers are not certified organic, but do grow without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Many offer heirloom and rare seed varieties.
Seed suppliers that offer organic seeds (US):
Aimers Organics - imported from the US, packaged in Canada, sold in nurseries.
