Local Compost & Manure Sources

This list will be updated as we find more local sources of approved organic compost and manure suppliers. As of March 19, 2026, we have not been able to source organic bulk compost. We reached out to City Folk – Farm Folk, who have been very helpful in sourcing other inputs; however, they are also still searching for reliable organic compost suppliers. At this time, the options listed below are the only bulk sources available to us. Outside of these three providers, the only alternative is returning to bagged Sea Soil.

• Terra Flora - not OMRI-listed, but suitable for our gardens, quite pricey

• Klassen Landscape Supplies - OMRI-listed composts, single-source and blended sawdusts for mulching. Purchase at your own discretion - we have had reports that the quality has diminished over the years with more sand than organic matter in the mixes.

• Ridge Valley Farms - OMRI-listed chicken, steer, mushroom, and blended manures
